Etsy: Setting Up Shipping Rates
How to Create Your Etsy Shipping Profiles
You are able to offer free delivery to your customers, but we recommend making sure that the product price then covers the shipping costs.
Etsy Integrated Shipping Methods
Orders received via your Etsy integration will automatically be shipped using our default services for each location; they are as follows:
Shipping Location | Shipping Method |
United Kingdom |
Royal Mail 24 Tracked (Due to app Etsy app limitations we are only able to offer Royal Mail 24 Tracked items) |
Europe | Europe Tracked |
USA | USA Tracked |
Canada | Canada Tracked |
Australia / New Zealand | Australia / New Zealand Tracked |
Rest Of World | International Tracked |
UK orders weighing above 700g / 0.7kg will be received on DPD courier services instead.
How is shipping calculated on Etsy?
Etsy shipping is calculated with a fee per item, with an additional item fee applied for every extra item in the order.
You'll create a shipping profile detailing the costs for each location, and then assign this to each new product listing.
Due to Etsy not allowing calculated shipping rates by weight, you cannot match all shipping costs precisely. However, you can calculate the rates to ensure customers cover the postage cost in most cases.
We recommend setting up a shipping profile for each weight bracket, depending on your product type.
-
For example, if you're selling t-shirts that weigh 100g, then your "One Item" price must be set for the lowest rate of £3.29 for 0-100g parcels.
-
We'll show you how to create the profile for 100g products (t-shirts) first; you can then duplicate this profile and update the costs to match the next bracket (200g for hoodies/sweatshirts, depending on the products you sell).
When selecting the shipping profile for your product listings, you will select the shipping profile option that matches the product weight (view all product weights here).

Make sure to check the most recent shipping costs
If you've created a new profile, you'll need to click + Add another location and then select the location from the drop-down menu to add the remaining rates.

Create/Edit 200g Shipping Profile (Hoodies/Sweatshirts)
If you've already created the 100g profile, click Duplicate. Change the name to "200g Hoodie/Sweatshirt Shipping" to make it easy to find later, and change the Processing time to 3 - 5 Business Days.
Or, if you're only selling hoodies/sweatshirts and need the 200g profile, select "Add a shipping profile" in your Shipping Settings to create a new profile.
Make sure to add an origin postcode that is formatted correctly with a space. Feel free to use ours: BS3 4AY.
In your shipping profile, under Standard shipping, you should apply the following rates.
(While the additional item costs for this profile may result in a slight overcharge for orders of three hoodies, it is important to note that most orders will not be impacted. This cost is necessary to cover more typical purchases, such as two-hoodie orders.)
