Squarespace: Setting up Shipping for Fulfilment

This step-by-step guide explains how to configure your Squarespace shipping settings to align with Live Ink’s fulfillment service. This ensures your customers are charged correctly and our system can automatically recognize the shipping methods you’ve chosen.

Step 1: Check Your Product Weights

Squarespace shipping rates for Live Ink are weight-based. For these to work, every product in your store must have an accurate weight assigned.

  1. In your Squarespace dashboard, go to Commerce > Products.

  2. Open a product and scroll to the Advanced or Shipping section.

  3. Ensure the weight is set (e.g., 0.10kg for a T-shirt).

  4. Save and use the arrows to quickly move through and check all other products.

Step 2: Access Shipping Settings

  1. From your main Squarespace dashboard, click Commerce.

  2. Select Shipping.

  3. Click Add Shipping Option to create your first rate.

Step 3: Create a Weight-Based Rate

  1. Select Depending On Weight (since Live Ink costs vary by order weight).

  2. Go to the Shipping Zones tab.

  3. Search for and select the region (e.g., United Kingdom).

  4. Return to the Formula tab to set up the specifics.

Step 4: Use Required Keywords & Weights

Our system uses keywords in the "Option Name" to identify how to ship your order. You must include these exact phrases:

For the UK (Example: Royal Mail 48 Tracked):

  • Option Name: Must include Royal Mail 48 Tracked (or 48 Tracked).

  • Weight Range 1: 0kg to 0.1kg | Price: (e.g.) £2.35

  • Weight Range 2: 0.11kg to 0.69kg | Price: (e.g.) £3.95

  • Weight Range 3: 0.7kg and up | Price: (e.g.) £11.99 (This ensures heavier orders are covered by the Courier rate).

Step 5: Reference Keywords for All Regions

Repeat the process above for different regions. Ensure the Option Name contains the relevant keyword for our system to sync properly:

Step 6: Save and Test

  1. Click Save to apply your new rates.

  2. Go to your storefront and add a few items to your cart.

  3. Proceed to checkout to verify that the shipping options appear correctly based on the total weight of the items in the cart.

Important Reminders:

  • Pricing: The prices mentioned above are examples. Always check the Live Ink Shipping Costs page for the most up-to-date rates to ensure you aren't undercharging.

  • Accuracy: If the "Option Name" does not contain the specific keyword, our system will not know which shipping service to use, which may cause delays in fulfillment.

  • Weight Buffers: Remember that packaging adds a small amount of weight (usually ~10-20g). It is safer to set your weight tiers slightly lower than the carrier limit.
