Built on a foundation of respect for people and for the planet they make clothing with maximum quality and minimum impact on the environment.
Below you will find information on how clothing from Stanley/Stella is different from other brands and also a catalouge of their current range.
What makes Stanley/Stella so crucial to the garment industry?
All cotton used in the production of Stanley/Stella garments is 100% organic and GMO free. This uses less water and no chemicals compared to standard cotton also leaving the soil much healthier for crop rotation. Waste from the cotton ginning process is also recycled for the animal feed industry.
This is the strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibres tracking the entire chain of production from farm to factory. From harvesting cotton grown with no chemicals to the export of finished garments it certifies they have also been processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances in all Stanley/Stella products thanks to the “Confidence in textile” label. An independent testing and certification system that ensures that all raw, semi-finished and finished textile products are certified to this standard.
GOTS also ensures compliance with the labour standards of the International Labour Organisation throughout the chain of production
Stanley/Stella uses recycled polyester to make its windcheater jackets and as a complement (up to 15%) to organic cotton in some sweatshirts.
To ensure sweatshirts are nice and soft against your skin, it is never in direct contact with the polyester, which is sandwiched between two layers of organic cotton.
The cutting of different pieces to make garments naturally produces scrap material. Since the idea of throwing this material away is not sustainable, Stanley/Stella has a partner who collects and recycles it into new cotton thread that is used in the manufacture of their tote bags.
Global Recycled Standard
As well as certifying that the materials used are recycled GRS also guarantees compliance with social and environmental criteria such as treatment of waste water, the absence of certain toxic additives and respect for working conditions in any partner factories.
