Woocommerce: Link existing products
This step-by-step guide explains how to link your existing WooCommerce product listings to your Live Ink account. This process ensures that when an order is placed on your website, Live Ink automatically receives the correct information to fulfill it.
Pre-Setup Requirement
If you plan to use custom inside neck labels, you must upload these to your Brand Profile before you begin linking products.
Step 1: Access the Product Manager
-
Log in to your Live Ink account.
-
Navigate to the Manage Stores section and find your WooCommerce integration.
-
Click the "Link Products" button.
-
You will see a list of all products currently in your WooCommerce store.
-
Products already synced will show a green bar (100%).
-
Unlinked products will show as 0% linked.
-
Step 2: Assign the Base Garment
-
Find the product you wish to link and click the "Edit" button.
-
At the top of the page, click the "Link" button next to "Live Ink Product."
-
Select the corresponding garment from the dropdown menu (e.g., "Stanley Stella Creator 2.0 T-Shirt").
-
This tells Live Ink which "blank" item should be used for this specific listing.
Step 3: Map Your Variants (Size & Color)
You must manually match each WooCommerce variation (size and color) to a Live Ink variation.
-
Scroll down to the Variants list.
-
Check the box next to a variant you want to fulfill.
-
Correct the Auto-Populated Data: The app may attempt to guess the size and color, but these are often incorrect. Use the dropdown menus in the "Live Ink Product" column to select the exact match.
-
Example: If your WooCommerce variant is "Large / Navy," make sure the Live Ink dropdowns are set to "Large" and "French Navy."
-
-
Repeat this for all variations you want to offer.
Step 4: Add Labels and Custom Print Files (Optional)
Within each variant row, you have additional options:
-
Label: Select your brand and the specific neck label you want printed for that garment (adds approx. £1.50 to the cost).
-
Individual Print Files: If your design color changes based on the shirt color (e.g., a white design for black shirts and a black design for white shirts), upload the specific file for that variant here.
Step 5: Upload Global Assets for Quality Control
Scroll to the bottom of the page to provide the necessary assets:
-
Product Mockup: Upload an image of the finished product. Live Ink’s production team uses this for quality control to ensure the print placement matches your vision.
-
Global Print File: Upload your high-resolution artwork (300dpi).
-
Note: If you assigned individual files to every variant in Step 4, you do not need to upload a global file here.
-
Step 6: Save and Verify
-
Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
-
You will be redirected back to your product list.
-
Check the Progress Bar: Ensure the green bar next to your product is at 100%. If it isn't, click "Edit" again to see which variants were missed.
Important Reminders:
-
Accuracy: Double-check your size and color mapping. Errors here will result in the wrong item being sent to your customer.
-
Syncing: Once linked, any new orders for these products will automatically appear in your Live Ink dashboard for fulfillment.
-
Stock: It is recommended to set your WooCommerce stock to "Allow Backorders" or "Unlimited" for print-on-demand items.
